Allergist in Lodz and surroundings
An allergist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosis of asthma and other allergic conditions, which are, simply put, a body’s defensive overreaction to normally harmless substances such as pollen, dust, mold. There are hundreds of ordinary substances that can cause an allergic reaction. Among the most common are pollen, household dust, pets, industrial chemicals, food additives, medicines and insect stings. These triggers are called “allergens”. Łódź’s population, as a population of every bigger city, is exposed to more allergens than small towns and country residents. An allergic reaction can occur anywhere in our bodies but usually it’s in the nose, eyes, lungs, sinuses, lining of the stomach, skin and throat. There are a few different types of allergies:
- asthma
- allergic rhinities (hay fever)
- contact dermatitis/skin allergies
- anaphylaxis (very rare and life threatening)
In our Swiss Medicus Medical Centre we diagnose allergies through an interview with the patient and thorough examination of their symptoms. Our allergist uses a broad range of tests to help him provide a proper diagnosis. Type of test depends on patient’s symptoms. It might be a skin, spirometry or blood test.
Our allergist not only diagnose allergy but also plan your treatement and provide necessary information about proposed tests and medication.
Swiss Medicus Medical Centre offers you following tests and services:
